DescrizioneThe Vilenica festival is a gathering of poets, writers, playwrights, but also essayists, publishers, cultural managers and translators from Central European countries and beyond. Since the first Vilenica in 1986 the apex of the gathering has been the presentation of the Vilenica International Literary Prize for outstanding achievements in the field of literature to an author from Central Europe. Former Vilenica Prize winners are: Fulvio Tomizza, Peter Handke, Peter Esterházy, Jan Skácel, Tomas Venclova, Zbigniew Herbert, Milan Kundera, Libuše Moníková, Josip Osti, Adolf Muschg, Adam Zagajewski, Pavel Vilikovský, Peter Nádas, Erica Pedretti, Slavko Mihalić, Jaan Kaplinski, Ana Blandiana, Mirko Kovač, Brigitte Kronauer, Ilma Rakusa, Karl Markus Gauss, Miodrag Pavlović, Goran Stefanovski, Andrzej Stasiuk, Claudio Magris, Dževad Karahasan, Mircea Cărtărescu, David Albahari, Olga Tokarczuk, László Krasznahorkai, Jáchym Topol, Dubravka Ugrešić, Yuri Andrukhovych and Ilija Trojanow. On this occasion the Anthology of Contemporary Italian Poetry in Slovene entitled UN FILO DI SETA and edited by Franco Buffoni and Veronika Simoniti will be published in the Vilenica Series by the Slovene Writers’ Association.
